ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARRESTED IN PRETORIA NORTH AND 10 TAXIS IMPOUNDED!
The Tshwane Metro Police’s regional policing members in Wonderboom arrested 11 undocumented immigrants during by-law enforcement operations.
The arrests were carried out in accordance with the Immigration Act, as the individuals were found to be residing in the country without the necessary documentation.
Additionally, in Centurion, Operation Clean Up targeted illegally erected structures in Rooihuiskraal and Olivenhoutbosch, resulting in the removal of several such structures in compliance with city by-laws.
Meanwhile, The TMPD Public Transport Unit impounded 10 public transport vehicles for various violations related to the National Land Transport Act (NLTA) in Pretoria Central on Friday, 13 March 2026.
This action is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with public transport regulations and enhance road safety.
These continuous operations demonstrate the department commitment to enforcing laws that safeguard residents and visitors in the City of Tshwane.
Elsewhere around the Pretoria region, the Cable Theft Unit members arrested five suspects in two separate incidents involving the theft of City infrastructure.
During the first incident, officers intercepted a white Toyota bakkie at the Just Metals gate in Pretoria North as the suspects attempted to enter the business premises.
A search of the vehicle revealed 92kg of suspected copper cable, which none of the three African male occupants could account for, and they were immediately arrested and charged at a local police station.
In the second incident, TMPD members on routine patrol received a complaint via the 331 radio channel from security personnel requesting assistance at Roger Dyson Road and Delfos.
Officers responded swiftly and arrived to find theft in progress, and with the help of the security company, they arrested two suspects on site for tampering with the City’s crucial infrastructure – one suspect fled the scene.
