MAN CAUGHT WITH DAGGA WORTH R3.3M!

A 32-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, 11 September 2025 on the R40 in Nelspruit.

The suspect was apprehended around 07:30 during the time he was allegedly trafficking dagga worth to an estimated street value of about R3.3 Million.

Members of the White River K9 Unit acted on information received about a vehicle suspected of transporting dagga along the N4 Road, with Gauteng registration number plates.

The vehicle was then spotted on the R40 Road and a take-down operation was successfully executed.

Upon stopping and searching the said vehicle, Police discovered 21 bales of dagga, weighing 548 kilograms.

The suspect was charged accordingly and is expected to appear at Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today, 12 September 2025 on charges of trafficking and dealing in dagga.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, welcomed the arrest and commended the members involved for their swift response.

The General also expressed his appreciation for the information shared by members of the public, which contributed to the success of the operation.
