JULIUS MALEMA’S SENTENCING POSTPONED TO 15 APRIL!

The sentencing of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has been postponed to 15 April 2026, following a long day of arguments in East London on Friday.
Malema has been convicted of firearms related charges in public, and his long running case is headed towards the end, as NPA argues for his jail time.
Malema, who is one of South Africa’s most prominent political figures, appeared calm as he arrived at court, accompanied by members of his legal team and party supporters who filled the outside the courtroom.
EFF members reiterated their support for their leader, describing the case as politically motivated, a claim that the state has consistently denied.
The matter has drawn significant public and political interest due to Malema’s influence in national politics and his outspoken criticism of government institutions.
Legal experts say the extended postponement indicates the complexity of the case and the importance of ensuring that all procedural requirements are properly addressed for sentencing.
Malema is expected to return to court on 15 April 2026.
