DJ WARRAS’ MURDER SUSPECTED TO BE A HIT!
As police probe the motive behind DJ Warras’ murder, Joburg Public Safety MMC Mgcini Tshwaku reckons a hit was ordered on the former radio DJ and presenter of Mzansi Magic show’s “Ngicel’Visa”.
At this stage, the high contingency of police are out on the streets probing the brazen murder of Warrick Stock in Johannesburg, who was gunned down point blank by two African males, according to reports.
Affectionately known as DJ Warras, the 40-year-old was shot four times in broad daylight in the busy Joburg CBD on Tuesday, and he apparently tried to run for cover but didn’t have much energy and collapsed on the pavement where he found.
Gauteng Deputy Police Commissioner Fred Kekana says key evidence, like cartridges, were discovered on the scene, as well as the nearest CCTV that has given them a glimpse of what could have happened.
Police say the perpetrators were caught on several cameras as they fled.
Speaking to the media at the scene, his sister Nicole Stock said the family is still in shock and not ready to speak about the circumstances surrounding his death.
She appealed for restraint, particularly amid growing public speculation surrounding his death
“Let us respect the mourning period. We need positivity right now. “
Stock urged the public to remember Warras for his character and humanity.
“He found humour in things that traumatised most of us, but just to show who we are as a nation and as South Africans,” she said.
“He loved everybody, every single person. You could be green, orange, red, and yellow. He loved them all.”
She added that Warras was genuine and consistent, both in public and in private.
The person you saw on camera is exactly who he was on the streets. He never pretended to be someone else.”
