FRAUD MONEY SEIZED IN BRITS!
Two suspects aged 38 and 49 were arrested following a coordinated intelligence-driven operation carried out by Northam police in collaboration with PPS Security Brits after a fraud case was reported in Northam.
The operation unfolded on Monday, 25 May 2026, after authorities received information regarding suspects allegedly linked to a scam in which a victim was deceived out of a large sum of money by a person pretending to be a traditional healer.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence received, police traced a white Toyota Corolla believed to have been used during the alleged crime.
The vehicle was intercepted in Brits, North West, leading to the arrest of a man and a woman.

During the search of the vehicle, officers recovered several bank cards, multiple cellphones, the complainant’s cellphone, and approximately R18 000 in cash.
Police investigations later led officers to a guest house in Brits, where additional cash was discovered inside a safe. In total, authorities seized R96 700 during the operation.
All items recovered during the arrests were confiscated as part of ongoing investigations.
The two suspects are expected to appear before the Northam Magistrate’s Court on charges of theft under false pretences.
Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, praised the police members and security partners involved in the operation for their quick response and dedication in ensuring suspects connected to criminal activities are brought to justice.
