BREAKING: GA-RANKUWA RESIDENTS TO BE RELOCATED TO SAFE AREAS!
The City of Tshwane has already started the process to relocate all residents from Ga-Rankuwa living in unauthorized and unsafe areas.
Among those areas are Extension 23, 25, 25, Brengaville, Beverly Hills.
According to Housing and Human Settlement MMC, Aaron Maluleka, 752 households will be relocated to provide safe, dignified and serviced stands.
A total of 369 from Ga-Rankuwa extension 23 and 25, which is also known as extension 26, will be rearranged into pegged stands.
“These residents are already on site and will be accommodated through reconfiguration to enhance order, safety and access to services.
Even those from Brengaville will also be moved, with 200 households reported, whom are believed to be living under Eskom’s servitudes and within flood lines.
The relocation follows the Ga-Rankuwa shutdown two months ago, during which the city of Tshwane committed to ensuring the safe settlement of all the affected residents.
About 183 residents of Beverly Hills in Ga-Rankuwa View, will be moved to make way for the finalization of the township establishment process for paving way for the development of roads reserves, parks and other essential infrastructure.
