GUNSHOTS AS ARMED SUSPECTS ‘ROB CAPITEC’ AT HEBRON MALL!

Shoppers at Hebron Mall, in the Madibeng district, North West, were left startled and shaken on Saturday afternoon, 26 September 2026, when gunshots went off during an alleged armed robbery at the Capitec Bank branch.

Preliminary information circulating in the community indicates that four black male suspects were involved in the incident, with three reportedly armed with rifles.

The information has not yet been independently confirmed by police, and the circumstances surrounding the robbery remain under investigation.

According to the initial reports received, the suspects targeted the Capitec Bank branch at Hebron Mall, with the sound of gunfire reportedly causing panic among shocked shoppers and people in the surrounding area.

At the time of publication, no official SAPS media statement specifically confirming the Hebron Mall robbery had been released.

It is also not yet clear whether anyone was injured during the incident, how much money was taken, how the suspects escaped, or whether any arrests have been made.

The incident comes amid continuing concern about armed robberies targeting businesses and financial institutions in Gauteng and surrounding areas.

Earlier this month, police launched a manhunt following an attempted cash-in-transit robbery in Mamelodi East in which two security officers were killed.
