TSHWANE HITS HARD ON FIREWORKS OUTLETS!

The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) is believed to have closed Hassims in Claremont, Pretoria West where people buy fireworks.

According to TMPD, the By-laws Unit, led by the Acting Chief of Police, Deputy Commissioner Nomsa Nhlapho, along with the MMC of Community Safety, Ald Hannes Coetzee, conducted an enforcement operation focusing on fireworks compliance in Claremont and Pretoria Central.

During the operation, several shops selling fireworks were inspected for compliance, resulting in the issuing of numerous Section 56 fines to business owners.

Businesses must prioritise safety and legality when selling fireworks to ensure the safety of the community.

Acting Chief Nhlapho emphasised the importance of following the required by-law guidelines when selling fireworks, warning business owners that their shops could be shut down and their stock confiscated if they do not comply.

She also urges business owners to cooperate in order to create a safe and compliant environment for everyone.
