ESKOM’S PROMISE: NO ROLLING BLACKOUTS…

Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, the Minister of Electricity and Energy, has assured South Africans that the power system has fully recovered an as a result, they do not expect any rolling blackouts anytime sooner, for the remainder of the winter season.

As he normally does when there are changes to grid, Ramokgopa was addressing the media on the current state of the national framework of spaced bars. He indicated that some parts of South Africa still experience load reduction, but assured Eskom is using technology to optimise energy flow.

Ramokgopa added that they are working tirelessly to make electricity more affordable to the people.

Meanwhile, Eskom indicated that electricity theft activities such as illegal connections, meter tampering, as well as purchase of illegal electricity tokens from unlicensed vendors are some of the reasons for the implementation of load reduction, which has ravaged most townships.
