AKASIA RESIDENTS WARNED ON RISING THEFT OF MOTION BEAMS!

The community of Akasia in Pretoria North and surrounding areas have been warned to be alert and vigilant against a syndicate around the area stealing outdoor security beams.

This is not on to make extra cash but to also create an easy undetected passage into your home to steal before the December holidays.

Earlier, Fidelity ADT urged residents in Pretoria to be extra security conscious following the increase of theft of beams and theft of gate motors in the area.

The police and insurance companies have been receiving reports from homeowners stating that their outdoor detection beams have been stolen.

“These are opportunistic criminals who are constantly moving and targeting different areas ” said ADT in a statement.

Criminals know that many homeowners do not activate their outdoor beams when they are home.

This makes them easy pickings.

Residents were warned to safeguard their outdoor detection beams to keep you safer.

Homeowners can install a bracket over their beam to delay criminals.

They must make sure to always activate their alarm, and especially outdoor beams.

The outdoor beams act as an early warning detection system and offer valuable time to security companies responding to emergency.
