POLICE SEIZE UNLICENSED RIFLE, PISTOL AND SHORT GUN BUTT IN HONINGNESTKRAANS ARREST!

A 41-year-old man is expected to appear before the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The suspect was arrested on Friday morning at his residence in Honingnestkraans, near Onderstepoort, following a tip-off received by police.

Acting swiftly on the information, law enforcement officials assembled a coordinated team comprising detectives, members of the Crime Prevention Unit, and the Soshanguve K9 Unit to track down the dangerous suspect.

Upon arrival at the identified property, officers searched and recovered an automatic rifle, a pistol, a shotgun butt, as well as live rounds of ammunition and spent cartridges.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody and is currently being detained at Pretoria North Police Station. Police have opened a case of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, and investigations are underway to determine whether the recovered weapons may be linked to other serious or violent crimes.
