PSL SEASON KICKS OFF FLOODED BY PLAYER RUMOURS!
Where is Peter Shalulile, Lucas Ribeiro, Khuliso Mudau, Relebohile Mofokeng?
Well, the time for reality has finally hit home amid player movement speculations.
The new 2025-26 PSL season kicked off last weekend with the MTN8 quarterfinals having determined the remaining four clubs – Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch FC, and Sekhukhune United – and now the BIG Betway Premiership is about to start.
The peak of the weekend is a clash between Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United, warring teams with a rich history.

Both clubs have signed heftily in the off-season transfer window period, with the Buccaneers having unveiled sponsorship that will help them financially, as they gun for the coveted title.
However, despite having signed Sipho Mbule from Sundowns, the Brazilians will not let the Soweto giants dictate terms, as they aim to defend their title successfully – their 18th in history and eighth in a row since 2017.
Sundowns will face Chippa United on Sunday, as Chippa want to solidify their place in the PSL, and possibly secure a top-eight finish next year in May when the season ends.
However, bruised and battered Kaizer Chiefs are in Cape Town, Athlone Stadium, where they will face the in-form side Stellenbosch FC.
Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou bemoaned the unavailability of Relebohile Mofokeng, who is rumoured to be on his way out.
Ouaddou insisted that he remains a key figure in his squad, meaning he is not ready to lose the 20-year-old.
“Well, you know, I read this news as well. A talent like him will always attract a lot of clubs,” said the ex-Marumo Gallants coach.
“But I trust my board, I trust the club, because definitely he is one of our major players this season and we need him.”
Elsewhere at Sundowns, Khuliso Mudau, Lucas Ribeiro and Peter Shalulile were visible absentees, raising speculation that all is not in order at the club.
Mudau, who Ga-Rankuwa Mail understands is recovering from an injury, but rumour has it that he could be on his way out following reports that he was in a tussle with Sundowns over his contract.
Shalulile is believed to be headed to Esperance, while Ribeiro could be going back home in Brazil, where Fluminense FC are hot on his heels.
