SCHOOL MOURNS GRUESOME DEATH OF KEITUMETSE MASHEGO!
The mood at Hoerskool Silverton was somber on Wednesday following news that one of their own, a prefect at the school, was shot dead by his uncle with a state-owned firearm.
The 18-year-old Keitumetse Mashego who was in his last few months before completing his matric, found himself in the middle of a family squabble that saw his uncle, Thapelo Mashego, shoot him dead, allegedly on the morning of Tuesday, 9 September in Mamelodi.

The highly publicised incident that shocked the country, left two bodies on the floor with gun shot wounds after Thapelo committed suicide after being cornered by the police in the middle of the night.
The third person in the house, the only survivor, was Thapelo’s mother who could be heard on the background of a voice note praying for his son not to kill them.

Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Masemola, confirmed that Thapelo was one of theirs stationed at Boschkof station in Pretoria.
Masemola encouraged that officers must use their professional facilities when in need of such service.
Hoerskool Silverton principal, Medupe Mathibedi wa-Medupe, said their learners will receive all the psychological support needed following the sad passing of their fellow learner.
Keitumetse is described as having being an always happy and smiling individual committed to life, and was also a volunteer in an NGO that used to assist communities.
