TERRIBLE POLICE STATION IN ROSSLYN SHOCKS LESUFI!
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi on Friday conducted an unannounced visit to Akasia Police Station in Rosslyn to assess its functionality following complains that have been reported at his office.
The Akasia Police Station is one of the 52 priority police stations in Gauteng facing a high rate of in contact, robbery, car hijacking and property crimes.
Some of the challenges affecting the station include limitations in the station’s capacity impacting daily operations.
The Premier engaged the station management on how to improve service delivery and strengthen policing in the area.
Lesufi wasn’t pleased with the situation, referring to the policestation as “this thing”.
His office says Lesufi will have another meeting with the SAPS GP Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni to address the issues affecting the police station and service to the public.

He emphasised the importance community safety matters with the Gauteng police this week with a view to improving safety for citizens in the province.
Lesufi added that he will summon Mthombeni to explain the situation at the station in Rosslyn.
