‘MA-SEVEN’ ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY STABBING MALE PARTNER TO DEATH!

Police have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the alleged murder of his male partner in Thembalethu, near KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga.

The suspect, identified as Katlego “MaSeven” Shongwe, was arrested on Saturday night, 5 September 2026, following a police manhunt after the fatal stabbing of Moses Kunene, also known as Moshe.

According to reports, Kunene was fatally stabbed in Thembalethu on 3 September. Police subsequently launched a search for the suspect after receiving information linking him to the incident.

Investigators reportedly traced Shongwe to a house in Phola Park, KwaMhlanga, where he was found hiding and taken into custody.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing, including what allegedly led to the confrontation between the two men, remain subject to police investigation. Reports circulating about an alleged altercation between the partners have not been independently confirmed by an official police statement and should therefore be treated as allegations.

Shongwe is expected to appear before the KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder. His court appearance will provide an opportunity for the state to formally place the allegations before the court.

The arrest follows calls for the suspect to be located after Kunene’s death. Several reports identified the deceased as Moses Kunene and the suspect as Katlego “MaSeven” Shongwe.

As the matter is now before the criminal justice system, the accused remains presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Police have also appealed to members of the community to continue assisting investigators with information that could help establish the full circumstances surrounding the death.
