MURDER ACCUSED’S HEARING POSTPONED TO SEPTEMBER!

Self-confessed murder and attempted murder accused, Lazarus Antonio, also known as Mfana Ngwenya, made his first court appearance at a packed Moretele Magistrates court in Hammanskraal on Monday.

He is accused for the murder of Kgaogelo Marota who succumbed to multiple stab wounds at Dubai Tavern in Hammanskraal.

After killing Marota, he went on to attack his girlfriend with a knife, who is currently recovering in hospital.

It is understood the girlfriend was released from hospital on Monday.

Ngwenya’s case, which drew attention of most active GBV organisations calling for his “rot in jail”, was postponed to 5 September 2025 for confirmation of his nationality and possible bail application.

Kgaogelo’s father refused to enter the courtroom saying that he might cause a scene when he sees the killer of his daughter.
